About us

Welcome to our website. DBImpex was started as a trading company to bring together source producers and their end markets. We look for source producers in their home countries, evaluate their sourcing policies and their corporate ethos and ecology policies. We look for producers that buy directly from family farmers or small artisan miners. We help them prepare their products for export, help with marketing plans, packaging design and help find market distribution. We further encourage them to establish plans to return profits as investments in their source communities. We show them how educating the future generations of their producers guarantees quality produce and quality extraction processes, which reduces harm to their environment, keeps the community healthy and prosperous. This allows for trade in the opposite direction at a certain point in the near future.

This is the "Trade" in our tagline.

We encourage the creation, in concert with the community leaders, of projects that bring about immediate results (such as street paving or water lines or school houses in some cases) to the community. When the community sees that their work brings in results such as these, they develop a sense that they are not being exploited but that they are now part of a trading process. Export markets now mean something concrete to them: infrastructure, education, health, improvement for their children. They are now more amenable to working with the local plant varieties (instead of the more destructive imported produce that might fetch more money in the local agro market) with an eye to developing more products, opening more markets, expanding market share. To them, all this jargon translates to 'community center', 'health station', 'cell phone tower' which links the distant homes together with the workers in the fields.

This is "Fair".

We also encourage the source producers to maintain some of the traditional farming practices. This is essentially "organic farming". They don't need re-training and certification for this, they grew up watching grandparent and parents work the land a certain way. The only exception to tradition is to provide basic assistance in the new 'organic ways' to keep production levels high and quality levels higher, such as the use of 'helper' plants and drip irrigation whenever or wherever possible. Saving n water is always good in the highlands.

This is "Sustainable".

We look forward to business with you, either as a direct reseller of our products or as the end consumer. We look forward to bring the best of their world to you, and the best of your world to them.
